Yahweh Global Mission (“we”, “us”) is the humanitarian arm of the Christian Outreach Centre Foundation Thailand. This page explains what yahwehglobalmission.com collects, why, and what you can ask us to do about it. Questions are welcome at info@yahwehglobalmission.com.
In short
- We welcome your gifts — and no payment is processed on this website. Giving is by bank transfer or PromptPay, using the account details published on our Donate page, so no card or bank credentials are ever entered here. If any site asks you for card details in our name, it is not us.
- No advertising on this site, and we never sell, rent or share your information.
- The only details you actively give us are the ones you type into the contact form.
- We use Google Analytics to see which pages get read, and we keep simple statistics of our own. Section 4 explains how to opt out of Google Analytics if you prefer.
1. When you contact us
The contact form asks for your first name, email address and message (last name is optional). Saved with it: the page you wrote from, your IP address, your browser’s identification string, and the time.
We use this to reply to you and to recognise spam. You can ask us to delete your message at any time and we will.
2. Visit statistics
For each page view we record the page address, the domain of the site you came from (never the full address), your country, whether you are on a phone or a computer, a visitor code, and a shortened IP address. We also count clicks on our Facebook and WhatsApp links. This stays on our own server and is not shared.
Two things keep it from identifying you: the IP address is shortened before it is stored (for IPv4 the last number becomes zero — 203.0.113.47 is kept as 203.0.113.0 — and it is erased altogether once the country has been worked out), and the visitor code is regenerated every day, so it can count how many people read a report today but cannot follow anyone from one day to the next.
No cookie is involved.
3. Cookies
One cookie is essential: ygm_session. It carries the token that proves a form
submission really came from this site, holds nothing about you, and is discarded when you close
your browser.
Google Analytics sets two more, _ga and _ga_… — see
section 4. There are no advertising or social-media cookies.
Separately, the site keeps offline copies of pages you have already opened, so they still work if your connection drops — useful on a weak mobile signal. Those copies stay on your own device and are never sent anywhere.
4. Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics to see which reports get read and roughly where readers are. It sets the two cookies named above and sends information about your visit to Google, which may process it outside Thailand.
We have configured it to shorten your IP address and to keep you out of Google’s advertising profiles (“Google signals” is switched off). We do not advertise and we do not use it to build profiles of individuals.
If you would rather not be counted, install Google’s opt-out browser add-on or block cookies for this site in your browser. Nothing else about the site changes if you do. Google explains its own handling at policies.google.com/privacy.
5. Who else is involved
- Hostinger hosts this website and its database for us.
- Google Fonts serves the typefaces, so Google can see your IP address when a page loads. It is there to render text, not to measure you.
- ip-api.com turns a shortened IP address into a country name. Only the shortened address is sent, and the answer is cached for up to 180 days.
Nobody else.
6. How long we keep things
- Our own visit statistics: up to 24 months, then deleted automatically.
- Country lookups: up to 180 days.
- Google Analytics: for the retention period set on our Google Analytics property.
- Your messages: for as long as the conversation may still need following up — and sooner if you ask us to delete them.
7. Your rights
Under Thailand’s Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) you can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, stop using it, or withdraw a consent you gave earlier. Email info@yahwehglobalmission.com — no special wording needed. If you are not satisfied with how we handle it, you may complain to Thailand’s Office of the Personal Data Protection Committee.
8. Photographs of the people we serve
Our reports carry photographs taken during our work. If you appear in one and would rather it were removed, or your face obscured, email us and say which page. We will act on it, and you do not need to give a reason. A parent or guardian may ask on a child’s behalf.
9. Children, security and changes
This site is not aimed at children and we do not knowingly collect their details through it.
The site is served only over an encrypted connection, the administration area needs a password, and program files and backups are not reachable from the web. No website can promise perfect security, but if we ever find that personal information has been exposed, we will say so.
If any of this changes we will update this page and the date at the top.
