In the Philippines our work has followed two needs: emergency relief after the earthquake, and steady support for families in remote communities.
In Cebu, 1,000 families received emergency relief after the earthquake — each household receiving 50 kilos of rice along with groceries. In Occidental Mindoro, the EduCare programme provides school supplies, umbrellas and nutritious meals so that children can stay in the classroom, and solar lamps have been distributed to families in remote communities where mains electricity does not reach.
Our five-day international humanitarian mission in Occidental Mindoro was carried out with the security support and cooperation of the Philippine National Police MIMAROPA.
